Released in 2013, Deep in the Rust is an EP created by me and my dad, Steve Hampton. Independently produced, it evolved out of a mutual love of a raw, indie aesthetic. And if you remember the one-season Don't Trust the B in Apt 23, that's our original on the theme song!

Lead Vocals, 2007 - 2024
SERGIO MENDES
Singing in English and Portuguese, I had the honor to work for Sergio Mendes since 2007, singing mostly in unison with Gracinha Leporace. Notable venues include the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House, Glastonbury Festival, Rock in Rio, and Carnegie Hall. Live TV performances have included Jay Leno, the ALMA Awards, and Lopez Tonight.
Vocals, Synths, 2014 - 2022
Led by Paul Bessenbacher, I played synths and sung in LA-based indie rock band, Opus Orange. I also recorded vocals on the last 3 albums - Miles From Nowhere (2020), Object Lessons (2021), and Waves (2024).
Background Vocals, 2013 - 2020
I had the pleasure of singing backgrounds for the brilliant Aubrey Logan, performing in LA venues such as Hotel Cafe, Catalina’s, and Vibrato. In 2019 I recorded live backgrounds on Aubrey’s latest album, Where the Sunshine is Expensive, which reached #1 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Charts.

Major works performed include Stravinsky's "The Rake's Progress" (opera chorus) at the Ojai Music Festival, movements from Ted Hearne's "Sound From the Bench" under the direction of John Adams at the Walt Disney Hall, Handel's Messiah, and Mozart's Requiem.
