ABOUT

Katie Hampton is a vocalist for film, television, and live performance.

Born in Los Angeles and raised by a composer dad and costume designer mom, Katie developed an early love for recording studios and sequins. She studied jazz in Montreal at McGill University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance (Voice). After joining Sergio Mendes' band as one of the lead singers in 2008, Katie moved back to LA and has been touring, session singing, and participating in bands and choirs ever since.

She recently completed a Master of Music degree from Cal State Northridge in Performance (Vocal Arts), which was grounded in opera and classical voice.

Apart from music, Katie and her husband Sebastian are proud, sleepy parents of their new son, Mateo, and their goldie, Penny. They all split time between LA and Mammoth Lakes (although Penny has strongly campaigned to remain in any one of the Mammoth lakes, chasing sticks. Forever).

A few highlights along the way:

  • Recording classical choir vocals for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

  • Performing at the Sydney Opera House with Sergio Mendes

  • Singing with Los Robles Master Chorale at the Walt Disney Concert Hall under the direction of John Adams

  • Making an EP with her dad
